PROJECT SAFEGUARD: THE STRUCTURA STANDARD
Comprehensive Health, Safety, and CDM 2015 Compliance
At STRUCTURA Project Services, Health and Safety is not a box-ticking exercise. It is the foundational pillar of every project we undertake. We operate in an industry where mistakes cost lives, and poor management costs millions in fines.
Our mandate is simple: Work Safe. Home Safe. Fully Compliant.
THE HARSH REALITY: UK CONSTRUCTION STATISTICS
We don't enforce strict safety protocols to make life difficult; we enforce them because the statistics demand it. According to the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE):
The Ultimate Cost
Construction consistently accounts for the highest number of workplace fatalities in the UK. Every year, around 40 to 45 workers leave for a shift and never return home to their families.
The Injury Toll
Over 50,000 non-fatal injuries occur annually in the sector, leading to massive project delays, ruined livelihoods, and civil lawsuits.
The Legal Hammer
The HSE does not issue warnings for serious breaches—they issue convictions. The average fine for a health and safety conviction in construction regularly exceeds £100,000, with major breaches pushing into the millions.
Individual Prosecution
It is not just companies that pay the price. Company directors, site managers, and even clients are routinely prosecuted, facing severe personal fines and immediate custodial prison sentences for negligence.
When you hire STRUCTURA, you are hiring a protective shield against these statistics.

HOW WE MITIGATE RISK: CDM 2015 & RAMS
We operate strictly under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015). This is the legal framework that ensures safety is baked into a project from the architect's first sketch to the final coat of paint.
Why CDM 2015 Matters to You (The Client)
Under UK law, the Client holds ultimate legal responsibility for the safety of a project. However, by officially appointing STRUCTURA as your Principal Contractor, you legally transfer the operational risk and daily safety management to us. We handle the Construction Phase Plan (CPP), site security, and welfare, keeping you legally protected and off the HSE's radar.
The Power of RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements):
We do not allow "guesswork" on our sites. Before any high-risk activity begins, our subcontractors must submit site-specific RAMS.
-
Risk Assessment: Identifying what could go wrong (e.g., working at height, asbestos, structural collapse).
-
Method Statement: The exact, step-by-step operational playbook of how the trade will execute the task to neutralize that risk.
-
The Result: Statistically, sites that enforce rigorous RAMS protocols see a 70% reduction in major incidents compared to sites that "wing it."
QUICK-GUIDE TO SITE COMPLIANCE
Whether you are a subcontractor stepping onto our site or a client visiting your project, these are the non-negotiable STRUCTURA site rules:
For Subcontractors & Trades:
-
Clearance: No RAMS, no Public Liability Insurance = No site access. Period.
-
PPE: 5-point PPE (Hard hat, hi-vis, steel toe-caps, gloves, glasses) is mandatory in all active zones.
-
Induction: Every operative must undergo the STRUCTURA Site Induction before picking up a tool.
-
Housekeeping: A tidy site is a safe site. Clear your waste as you work. Tripping hazards are zero-tolerance.
For Clients & Visitors:
-
Reporting: Do not enter the active site without reporting to the Site Manager first.
-
Escort: You must be accompanied by a STRUCTURA representative at all times.
-
Protection: You will be provided with, and must wear, the required PPE for the duration of your visit.
