BOOTS FOR YOOTS

The industry is short on trades. The "Yoots" are short on kit. We’re fixing both. No fluff. No gatekeeping. Just gear.

Construction is the backbone of this country, but the barrier to entry has become a joke.

It costs nearly £250 in PPE and CSCS fees just to set foot on a site. For a kid from a disadvantaged background, that might as well be ten grand.

STRUCTURA isn’t here to play "Corporate Charity." We’re here because if we don’t kit out the next generation now, there won't be an industry left to manage. We don’t want your cash. We want your surplus. We want your spare vouchers. We want the kids on-site and earning.

We don’t do live vanity metrics. We do the work.

We're keeping our heads down and getting gear to the youth across the North West who actually need it. No live trackers, no PR fluff.

In January 2027, we’ll release the official audit of exactly how many boots, high-vis jackets, and CSCS cards we managed to get on the ground.

Until the clock runs out, the mission is live. If you’ve got surplus kit sitting in a van or warehouse, let’s put it to work.

THE 2026 AUDIT: BOOTS ON THE GROUND

TARGET: 100 PAIRS KITTED OUT IN THE NORTH WEST

We’ve just launched. We don't inflate numbers and we don't use fake trackers. Watch this space as the gear rolls in.

The Blueprint (How it works)

This is where our journey begins. Get to know our business and what we do, and how we're committed to quality and great service. Join us as we grow and succeed together. We're glad you're here to be a part of our story.

1. The Kit 2. The Card 3. The Knowledge
We source surplus, BS EN-compliant PPE from merchants and contractors. No second-hand rubbish—only gear that meets site safety standards. We match corporate sponsors with dedicated trainees to fund the £36 CSCS test. Getting on-site legally shouldn't be a financial hurdle. We provide the "Site Knowledge." Mentorship from our project managers to ensure they understand site reality and stay in the job.

We don't want your cash. We want your surplus.

We are actively building the stockpile for our first intake of local college referrals. Here is exactly what we need this month to get moving:

  • 🔴 URGENT: Pairs of BS EN ISO 20345 compliant Steel Toe Boots (Sizes 8-11).

  • 🔴 URGENT: Corporate Sponsors to fund CSCS Test Vouchers.

  • 🔴 URGENT: Hi-Vis vests, jackets, T'shirts, Clean & New, with or without logo.

  • 🔴 URGENT: Safety Glasses & Gloves, New and Undamaged.

  • 🔴 URGENT: Hard Hats, Blank or logo'd, New or surplus.

  • 🟡 PENDING: Ear Plugs (Single Use) & Ear Defenders

WE CANNOT ACCEPT USED/DAMAGED P.P.E

The "No-Bull" FAQ

  • Can I just have the cash?

    • No. We coordinate gear and vouchers. STRUCTURA does not handle or distribute cash.

  • Can I donate my old boots?

    • Absolutely not. Safety isn't a second-hand thought. If we wouldn't wear it on a STRUCTURA site, we won't give it to a Yoot. Don't be gross.

  • How do you choose who gets the kit?

    • Referrals only. We partner directly with Colleges, Training programmes and registered youth programmes in Manchester and the NW. We let the educators verify the financial need; we just supply the tools.

GOVERNANCE & TRANSPARENCY: THE BOOTS FOR YOOTS CHARTER

STRUCTURA Project Services operates in a high-risk, highly regulated industry. We apply the same rigorous compliance and risk management to our social initiatives as we do to our commercial builds. Below is our operational charter for the Boots for Yoots (B4Y) programme.

1. Financial Independence & The Zero-Profit Guarantee

  • 100% Pass-Through: B4Y is a strictly non-profit, zero-revenue initiative. STRUCTURA Project Services does not charge admin fees, take a cut, or monetise this programme in any way.

  • No Cash Handling: To maintain absolute financial transparency, STRUCTURA does not accept cash donations. All contributions must be made via direct transfer to educational partners, direct purchase of CSCS vouchers, or the provision of physical, brand-new goods.

2. Anti-Bribery & Commercial Separation (UK Bribery Act 2010)

  • No "Pay-to-Play": Participation in the Boots for Yoots programme by any merchant, sub-contractor, or supplier has absolutely zero bearing on STRUCTURA’s commercial tendering, procurement, or contractor vetting processes.

  • Donating gear does not buy you a contract on a STRUCTURA-managed site. This initiative is strictly for the benefit of the North West's next generation of trades, not a commercial leverage tool.

3. Health, Safety & British Standards Compliance

  • Equipment Verification: We strictly enforce a "No Second-Hand Gear" policy. All donated PPE must be brand new in the box, in date (e.g., hard hats), and comply with current UK Building Regulations and British Standards (e.g., BS EN ISO 20345 for safety footwear).

  • Liability Handover: STRUCTURA acts solely as the facilitator of equipment. Upon handover to the referred individual, the recipient assumes full responsibility for the correct fit, daily maintenance, and safe application of the PPE in accordance with site-specific rules and the CDM Regulations 2015.

4. Safeguarding & Data Protection (UK GDPR)

  • Professional Boundaries: STRUCTURA staff act as industry mentors, not youth workers. All face-to-face mentorship, site visits, or handovers are conducted in group settings or under the direct supervision of our partnered Further Education (FE) colleges or registered youth charities.

  • Data Minimisation: We do not harvest or retain the personal data of the young people we help. Names and contact details provided by referring colleges are used exclusively for the fulfillment of PPE sizing and CSCS test bookings, and are purged from our systems immediately upon delivery.

5. Vetting & Equality of Access

  • Strictly Referral-Based: To ensure that resources go strictly to those facing genuine financial barriers, STRUCTURA does not accept direct, individual applications. All "Yoots" must be vetted and referred by an established educational or community partner in the North West. We rely on their professional assessment of need.

Boots for Yoots | Powered by STRUCTURA

In the construction industry, the right gear is the first step toward a safe and professional career. However, the high cost of compliant PPE—specifically safety boots—can be a significant barrier for young people entering the trade in Manchester and across the North West.

Boots for Yoots is a STRUCTURA-led initiative to provide high-quality surplus safety footwear  and equipment to apprentices and students. We bridge the gap between industry waste and community need, ensuring the next generation of builders, engineers, and surveyors can step onto a site with confidence, safety, and pride.

Book a Cohort session

Bridging the gap between the classroom and the construction site.

At STRUCTURA, we know that the reality of a live, North West construction site can’t be fully captured in a textbook. That’s why we bring the site to you.

As part of our community outreach and commitment to the next generation of builders, training centres and education partners can book an Enhanced DBS-checked STRUCTURA Site Professional to deliver our comprehensive Site Expectations & Safety Masterclass.

What to Expect

This isn’t a dry lecture. It’s a formatted, informal, and highly interactive session delivered by the management professionals who actually run the plots. We don’t sugar-coat the reality of the industry, and we don't do "near enough". We teach the STRUCTURA standard: Accuracy over speed, every single time.

Session Highlights:

  • The Unwritten Rules: Real-world site etiquette, our strict protocols on mobile phone distractions, and the professional standards required on a live plot.

  • The Hard Truths: An honest, interactive look at the real health and safety statistics that matter—from the dangers of gravity to the blind spots of heavy machinery.

  • The Mental Hard-Hat: Breaking the stigma around mental health in construction and teaching cohorts how to look out for their mates.

  • The "Hot Seat" Q&A: A no-filter, open-floor discussion where trainees can ask our professionals anything—from wages and hours to the most expensive mistakes we've seen.

Who is this for?

Specifically designed for young people (YPs), apprentices, and training cohorts preparing to step onto a live site for the first time.

Session Details:

  • Delivered by: Enhanced DBS-checked STRUCTURA Management Professionals.

  • Duration: Flexible (Standard format is a comprehensive 2-hour masterclass).

  • Included Materials: We provide all interactive C.A.L.C. Hazard Hunt visuals, cohort workbooks, and pocket field guides - In Development

ENOUGH SMALL PRINT. LET’S GET TO WORK.

The red tape is sorted, the framework is locked, and there are zero excuses left not to act. If we want to fix the skills shortage in the North West, it starts right here.

  • To the Merchants, Suppliers & Contractors: If you’ve got surplus PPE, last season's stock, or unallocated CSCS vouchers gathering dust in a warehouse, they are doing nobody any good sitting on a shelf. Let us take them off your hands. Turn your dead stock into a young person's first day on site.

  • To the NW Colleges, Youth Charities & Community Hubs: If you have a young person with the right attitude, the grit to work, but the wrong bank balance to get started—we want to hear from you. You do the vetting, we’ll hunt down the gear.

Let’s stop talking about the talent gap and start funding the solution.
